# Watch Pages (hosted players)

A watch page is a public, branded page where your viewers watch your channels in a browser. No app, no separate hosting: CST+ serves the page for you at a public link, complete with a channel grid, a live EPG, and access control.

Use it to give viewers a simple link, to embed a player on your own site, or to hand a client a white-labelled page under your own brand.

***

### Where to find it

Open **Players** in the sidebar to create and manage watch pages. Each player is tied to a **line**, so the channels it shows and the connection limits it obeys are the ones set on that line.

***

### What a viewer sees

* A **channel grid** of the channels available on the line.
* The current programme and **what is next**, from the channel's EPG.
* A player that streams the selected channel.

The page can be themed with your product name, logo and accent colour.

***

### Creating a watch page

**Step 1: Create the player**

In **Players**, click **Create player**, give it a name, and pick the line whose channels it should show.

**Step 2: Choose an access mode**

| Mode         | Who can watch                                         |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Public | Anyone with the link |
| Passcode | Anyone who enters a code you set |
| Email gate | Viewers who enter an email first (captured for you) |
| Signed token | Only links carrying a valid signed token you generate |

**Step 3: Brand it (optional)**

Set a product name, logo and accent colour. White-label branding is a plan feature; on plans without it, the page uses the default CST+ branding.

**Step 4: Share the link**

Copy the public link, or copy the embed snippet to place the player on your own website.

{% hint style="info" %}
Watch pages are served on the stream edge at a slug link (for example `/p/your-slug`). The link keeps working as long as the line is active and within its limits.
{% endhint %}

***

### Access, limits and expiry

Because a watch page rides on a line, everything you set on the line applies: maximum connections, allowed outputs, blocked countries, and expiry. A player link can also be given its own expiry, after which it stops working.

{% hint style="warning" %}
For a public event, create a **dedicated line** for the watch page so its connection limits and access rules do not affect your other viewers.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.cstplus.org/documentation/feature-reference/watch-pages-hosted-players.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
